## How signing in works

Light Horse doesn't use a password. Instead, you sign in with **two-factor authentication (2FA)**: we send a **6-digit verification code** to the **email** and **phone number** on your account, and you enter it to log in.

Because there's no password, there's nothing to reset yourself. If you need to change the email or phone number used to log in, our support team handles it — see [Update the email or phone you use to log in](#update-the-email-or-phone-you-use-to-log-in) below.

## Didn't get your verification code?

If your code hasn't arrived:

- Make sure your phone has signal and check your email's spam folder.
- Confirm you're using the email and phone number tied to your Light Horse account.
- Wait a moment, then request a new code.

### "mac send too often" error

If you see a **`mac send too often`** message, it means too many verification codes were requested in a short period of time. Wait a couple of minutes, then try again.

## No longer have access to your phone number?

If you can't receive your verification code — for example, you've changed or lost your number — you'll need to verify your identity with our support team.

Email **support@lighthorse.io** and include:

- A photo of your government ID:
  - **U.S. residents:** driver's license
  - **International residents:** passport
- Your **full legal name**
- Your **date of birth**
- Your tax identifier:
  - **U.S. residents:** the **last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)**
  - **International residents:** your **foreign tax ID**

Identity verification takes **up to 2 business days**. Once verified, our team will help you regain access securely.

> ***Stay safe:** Only send these details to our official address, **support@lighthorse.io**. Light Horse will never ask you for a password.*

## Update the email or phone you use to log in

Your login authentication has no password and no self-service reset. To change the **email or phone number used for login** (the ones that receive your 6-digit verification codes), email **support@lighthorse.io**. For your security, this change can only be made by our support team.

## Update your KYC email or phone (brokerage communications)

This is separate from your login. Your **KYC contact details** — the email and phone used strictly for brokerage account documents and communications — do **not** affect how you sign in. Once you're signed in, you can update these yourself:

1. Click your **name** in the top-right corner.
2. Select **Personal Profile**.
3. Choose to change your **email** or **phone number**.

Your request is submitted for review, which takes approximately **1 business day**.

## Think your account has been compromised?

If you believe someone else has access to your account, email **support@lighthorse.io** right away so we can help you secure it.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a password to log in to Light Horse?
No. Light Horse uses two-factor authentication. You sign in with verification codes sent to your email and phone number — there's no password to set or reset.

### How long does identity verification take?
Up to 2 business days after you email your documents to support@lighthorse.io.

### Why do I see the "mac send too often" error?
It means too many verification codes were requested in a short window. Wait a couple of minutes before requesting another code.

### Is it safe to email my ID and last 4 of my SSN?
Yes — as long as you send them only to our official address, support@lighthorse.io. We use this information solely to verify your identity and restore your access.

### What's the difference between my login email/phone and my KYC email/phone?
Your login email and phone receive your 2FA verification codes and can only be changed by emailing support@lighthorse.io. Your KYC email and phone are used strictly for brokerage account documents and communications; you can update these yourself in **Personal Profile** once you're logged in, and they're reviewed within about 1 business day. Changing your KYC details does not change how you sign in.

### How long does a KYC email or phone change take?
Around 1 business day, after your update request is reviewed.
